Covid-19 Adjustments for Safe Working
The health and wellbeing of our staff, customers and the wider Dial family is our utmost priority. Dial Carpentry and Plumbing staff are fully vaccinated and have put a number of other precautionary measures in place to help us safeguard everyone’s health. These steps will be reviewed and amended as the situation develops and new NHS and Government guidance is issued. We ask that our customers work with us for the benefit of all.
Customer calls and home visits
To protect our staff, vulnerable customers and high-risk members of the wider Dial family, we ask that any customer that has been asked to self-isolate, has shown symptoms, or received a notification from Test, Trace and Protect, to please notify us prior to our arrival at your property.
If we discover that a customer or member of their household is symptomatic upon arrival at your property (whether to carry out work or prepare a quote) we reserve the right to curtail our visit and resume at a later date.
Where possible, during local lockdown restrictions, to protect the health of both customers and employees, we will postpone visits to properties where there is an increased risk. If appropriate we will use video-calling to undertake an initial assessment and provide advice to customers and tenants. Appointments that need to be postponed will be rescheduled until local lockdowns, government restrictions and/or the customer’s symptoms have passed.
Emergency Call-outs for Tenants
Tenants of MJ & GP Durrant and Barwick Holdings who report a maintenance or fault issue will be asked to use video-calling to help us asses the severity of the fault. Where possible, general repairs and maintenance will be carried out once the Covid-19 risks have subsided. Where appropriate advice and guidance will be given over the phone to help resolve issues wherever possible. In the case of confirmed emergencies such as leaks, electrical malfunction or risk to property security, our staff will attend taking additional precautions as detailed below.
Covid-19 working practices
Although pleased to meet you, our staff will refrain from shaking hands and ask that any customers or tenants stay more than 2m away from us and if possible leave us to work in the designated space without contact from the rest of the household.
To reduce the risk of contact with infected surfaces, we ask that residents open all necessary doors, or inspection cupboards etc.
Good ventilation is recommended to decrease the risk of covid-19 transmission. When working for long periods in an indoor or enclosed space, we will seek to open windows or doors when possible from time to time to help to keep a new supply of fresh air.
Before and after entering properties, our staff will use hand sanitiser and will wear a face mask for our protection and yours.
In certain circumstances, we may also ask to wash our hands in your sink facilities.
If at any time our staff become symptomatic, or if we are notified of a contact via the Welsh Test, Trace and Protect service, we will halt all home visits and refer emergency call-outs to other trusted tradesmen.
We thank you for your understanding and assistance in these matters. As a small, family business Covid-19 has the potential to disrupt our business but we hope that we can rely on our valued customers to take the necessary precautions and support us during this period of uncertainty.
If you have any questions or concerns please contact us.
